doubt + 子句

doubt 是指「不相信某事是真的」，帶有「懷疑真實性」的語意。

用法： doubt + (that) + 子句

例句：

I doubt that he will come to the party.

我懷疑他不會來派對。(這邊是覺得對方不會來派對)

She doubted that the story was true.

他懷疑這個故事不是真的。(這邊是覺得故事是假的)

suspect + 子句

suspect 是指「懷疑某件事情是真的」，意思與 doubt 相反。

例句：

I suspect that he took the money.

我懷疑是他拿了那筆錢。

The police suspect that he is involved in the crime.

警方懷疑他與這起犯罪有關。

能夠替換的場合

dobut 和 suspect 的後面如果單純接名詞，意思是一樣的。

例句：

I doubt his motivation. = I suspect his motivation.

我懷疑他的動機。
